Thank you for your interest in financially helping
St. Francis of Assisi Church in Townsend, Tennessee !
Our visitors are always asking: “We would like to support your beautiful church – how can we help financially?”
Well… this page has been created to help with ideas on how you can help financially support St. Francis of Assisi – many of which you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your favorite electronic device keyboard!
If you put an offering into the Sunday collection, your offering will go toward the general operating fund. If you put your offering into an envelope and specifically label the envelope (something like “Sound System Fundraiser”) then your offering will go specifically toward that item/area of need.
“Check’s In the Mail!”
Of course, you can always put a check in the mail! If you have something specific in mind for your donation, please be sure to note it in the memo section of your check or include a letter expressing how you would like your donation to be applied. You can mail your donation to: St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church / 7719 River Rd. / Townsend, TN 37882
Online Giving Opportunities:
I-give.com is an online shopping program that is easy and raises funds for our church – and best of all it doesn’t cost you anything!! All you have to do is go thru IGive.com and a percentage of your purchase goes toward our church. It is the company who makes the donation in your name.

Indiegogo is a crowdfunding way of raising money by asking a large number of people each for a small amount of money. Until recently, financing a business, project or venture involved asking a few people for large sums of money. Crowdfunding switches this idea around, using the internet to talk to thousands – if not millions – of potential funders. People invest simply because they believe in the cause. Donors have a social or personal motivation for putting their money in and expect nothing back, except perhaps to feel good about helping the project.
We are in the process of starting an Indiegog crowdfunding effort to raise funds for a new sound system. Keep checking back here to check on the availability of this effort.
SCRIP is Fundraising While You Shop. Scrip turns everyday shopping into cash for our church when families use retail gift cards to pay for everyday purchases (like gas and groceries) instead of the usual credit/debit card or other money. This is also a great way to give gift cards as gifts and a portion of the purchase goes to St. Francis. We are also in the process of setting up our SCRIP process, so continue to check back here for program availability.
“Tell them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, ready to share,
thus accumulating as treasure a good foundation for the future, so as to win the life that is true life.”
